Visit to Geoffrey Bawas’s Trust and garden tour

 

Geoffrey Bawa’s house

Geoffrey Bawa’s town house, 1960-69; 33rd Lane, Bagatelle Rd, Colombo. Run by the Geoffrey Bawa Trust the buildings house art and artefact from Bawa’s collection.

Depart to Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

(2 hours drive from Colombo)

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is an orphanage, nursery and captive breeding ground for wild Asian elephants located at Pinnawala village, 13 km (8.1 mi) northwest of Kegalle town in Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka. It’s home to around 75 elephants. The sanctuary was established in 1975 by the Sri Lanka Wildlife Department.

SIGIRIYA

Sigiriya rock plateau (UNESCO World heritage centre)

Sigiriya is one of the most valuable historical monuments of Sri Lanka. It s an ancient rock fortress located in the central Matale District near the town of Dambulla in the Central Province, Sri Lanka. Sigiriya rock plateau, formed from magma of an extinct volcano, is 200 meters higher than the surrounding jungles.

KANDY & NUWARA ELIYA

Kandy half-day city tour to discovery bazaar, the art and crafts centre and a gem museum.

Kandy was the last capital of Sinhala Kings. The valley of Kandy is surrounded by magnificent hills which made it as the last bastion. Today Kandy offers its visitors rich collection of art and craft and historical buildings.

Depart to Nuwara Eliya for Hakgala Botanical Garden, tea plantation and stay overnight at Heaven Seven Hotel, Nuwara Eliya (4th Night)

Nuwara Eliya situated at around 2000m above sea level and surrounded by lush tea plantations. Nuwara Eliya (Little England) is the main hill resort of Sri Lanka and the heart of the tea industry. Once a pleasure retreat of the European planters the town is still very much an English town with many English style bungalows and buildings. Whiles, Hakgala Botanic Gardens established in 1861 for the purpose of experimentation and promotion of Cinchona cultivation in Sri Lanka.

Depart from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo.

 

Visit Shopping Centres and transfer to Departure (evening) (FREE AND EASY)

Colombo is the commercial and business centre of Sri Lanka located on west cost. The city blends together with old colonial type building, high-rise commercial buildings and hotels.
